Position Title: Project Manager – BASE Project (One)

Job Location: Kathmandu

Job Description:

Contract : Time Bound

Work Purpose: To overall lead and manage Building Access to Safe School and Employment (BASE) Project in order to achieve the project goal as per approved programme design and donor compliance
‘The aim of the BASE project is to improve community resilience by promoting school safety and economic opportunities in earthquake affected areas of Kathmandu District. The key components of this project are enabling schools to have safe structures, plans and preparedness. In addition, the project also aims to create savings and employment opportunities for youth and adults.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience Required:

    Bachelor’s Degree (Preferably Master’s) in Engineering (Civil)/Disaster Risk Management/ Education/Natural Resource Management or relevant discipline from recognised university with at least
    five years’ experience in an NGO context in working with community/grassroots people and organisations, with special focus on disaster risk management, schools safety and knowledge on education (Early Grade Reading) projects
    Ability to do field survey, design, estimation of buildings including specification of construction materials & ensure the quality of construction works
    Demonstrated depth of experience and effectiveness preferably in an NGO context in working with community/grassroots people and organisations, specially focus on Disaster Risks Management, construction/renovation of buildings

Position Title: Project Specialist – BASE Project (One)

Job Location: Kathmandu

Job Description:

Contract : Time Bound

Work Purpose: To overall manage livelihood component of Building Access to Safe School and Employment (BASE) Project and assist and mentor coordinator for Savings Groups (SG) to develop effective economic development initiatives in project areas. This will involve developing a mission, vision and strategy and develop practical action plans for livelihood component of the project. It also includes to design, develop and document appropriate tools, resource materials and workshop outlines, training programmes and evaluation methodologies to follow up and review impact.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience Required:

    Bachelor’s Degree (preferably Master’s) in Agriculture or related field from recognized university with at three years working experience in youth livelihood projects and one year in savings groups/microfinance
    Demonstrated depth of experience and effectiveness preferably in an NGO context on youth programming, savings/microfinance programmes experience is an advantage
    Extensive experience and recognized expertise in models and methods of training, facilitation and capacity building, and organizational development for staff and communities
    Thorough understanding and experience in quantitative and qualitative data collection methods, including sampling, survey design, data analysis, and the application of these methods to project Design, Monitoring and Evaluation standards in respective sectors
    Thorough understanding and experience in Results-Based management, staff capacity development, development of community capacity and community-based organizations, linking of professional, academic and community-based learning models

Position Title: Saving Group Coordinator – BASE Project (One)

Position Title: Saving Group Officer – BASE Project (One)

Job Location: Kathmandu

No. of Vacancy: 1

Job Description:

Contract : Time Bound

Work Purpose: To ensuring capacity building process according to Village Savings and Loan Association (VSLA) methodology and maintain strong relationship, participation and empowering processes for Savings Groups in the community in project areas.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience Required:

    Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture or related field from recognised university with at least two years’ experience in working with the poor community, Village Savings and Loan Association (VSLA) methodology is preferred
    Must be willing to work and travel at the target village areas
    Good interpersonal communication and facilitation skills and good organisational skills
    Understanding of the culture and conditions of poor segments of the population in Nepal in an urban context
    Ability to work in different target groups
    Ability to work in a team; ability to drive motorbike with valid driving license ; 90% field visit in the field sites is expected

5.
Position Title: Finance & Admin Coordinator – (One)

Job Location: Area Development Proramme (ADP), Jumla

No. of Vacancy: 1

Job Description:

Job Purpose: To ensure effective and efficient resource management and coordinate administrative functions of ADP in compliance with WV Partnership financial policy and standard, and special funding requirements including the preparing and maintaining of financial records in Jumla ADP.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience required:

    Bachelor’s Degree (preferably Master’s) in Management/Commerce from recognized university with at least three years’ work experience in finance, accounting/bookkeeping activities, auditing, and business administration
    Good knowledge of accounting principles, financial systems, budget/cash-flow monitoring and internal accounting controls
    Proven experience with government grant regulations and financial reporting requirements, log-frame and partner collaboration and experience and proficiency on financial software and reporting systems and Microsoft Office programmes and good knowledge and experience on capacity building of individuals and organizations in financial management system
    Good report writing skills; with fluency in Nepali and English – both oral and written
    Innovation and creativity to have fun and meaningful activities for children ; competent in using MS Word, MS Excel and PowerPoint presentation; ability to operate effectively and sensitively in the cultural context of Nepal
